Unfold Repress

De reeks zeefdrukken uit Unfold droeg Uilenbroek enige tijd in zijn broekzak, met een gevouwen grid als vaste waarde. De ingesleten vouwlijnen definiëren het verloop van tijd en ruimte, de blauwdruk van deze serie waarin de tijd zichtbaar is verstreken.

Door een nieuwe druklaag aan te brengen over het meegedragen werk ontstaat de Unfold Repress serie. Door de hoogteverschillen in het gevouwen papier drukt de inkt maar gedeeltelijk af en worden de vouwlijnen visueel geaccentueerd.

Uilenbroek carried the series of screen prints from Unfold in his pocket for some time, with a folded grid as a permanent fixture. The worn fold lines define the flow of time and space, the blueprint of this series in which time has visibly passed.

By applying a new printing layer over the carried work, the Unfold Repress series is created. Due to the height differences in the folded paper, the ink only partially prints and the fold lines are visually accentuated.
